Visual Arts Major Work - "Trans-figuration"

*Rigel - a blue supergiant star in the constellation of Orion.

*Tauri (T-Tauri): A pre-main-sequence star in the process of contracting to the main sequence along the Hayashi track, a luminosity–temperature relationship obeyed by infant stars of less than 3 solar masses ( M☉) and in the pre-main-sequence phase of stellar evolution.

*Proto-star: Avery young star that is still gathering mass from its parent molecular cloud. The protostellar phase is the earliest one in the process of stellar evolution. *Neutron-star: A dead sun/the collapsed core of a massive supergiant star due to its own weight

My Concept
Eels are greatly precious to me due to their queerness, their abnormality in how they live and exist, with an ability to change their gender and their full life cycle from reproduction being unknown; they’re mysterious creatures. My identity as a trans man is likewise. To me, my transness is like my most precious star that was there before and how when I was reborn as who I am now, and began anew. My body of work, “Transfiguration” is a commemoration, a sparked celebration of my complex and unique journey through transitioning and evolving, consisting of 5 watercolour graphic print panels that each capture emotions in the major phases of my journey using my motif of a large eel, traveling and following me throughout my change. “Transfiguration” is a sparked celebration of who I am, who I was and who I am to be, I celebrate mine and others trans identities, celebrate transness as a whole and celebrate my own journey as a transitioning transmasculine person. To live as a trans person is to be reborn, to burst from the expectational boxes of society, to no longer be suffocated, this is me. This is me screaming I'm here, I exist, I AM a boy to the world. Simply a boy, angry at the world. Simply a boy, trying to live.
